The preservation of the earth is currently something that is often campaigned for by various organizations and communities. This is due to increasing pollution and things that cause global warming.
One of the global campaigns that is held regularly every year is Earth Hour. Earth Hour itself is a movement to love the earth with a program to turn off lights simultaneously in homes, offices, hotels and public facilities for one hour. This movement initiated by WWF has been held since 2007 until now and has received great enthusiasm from all levels of society.
The Alana Yogyakarta which is a 4 star hotel located on Jalan Palagan Tentara Pelajar KM. 7 are very enthusiastic about participating in this Earth Hour activity. On March 23 2024 at 20.30 to 21.30 which is the time specified to carry out this activity; The Alana Yogyakarta together with management and employees took part in turning off the lights in public areas.
The event was centered in the CityWalk area which is located on the Ground Floor of this hotel. During the one hour lights outage, several activities and promotions were also held, including the lighting of 60+ candles which is a symbol of Earth Hour, acoustic entertainment, and a food & beverage discount promo of 25%.
Mrs. Mira Kiranasasi as General Manager of The Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center revealed that it is hoped that this positive activity can be consistently held every year and will have a good impact on the sustainability of the earth.
